Hello All,

Well, not long to go now! We are getting very excited as everything is finally coming together! Sort of…

We went to Sydney last week to try to get as much done as possible. Here are the things we were to accomplish:

1. Buy wedding shoes
2. Have dress fitting
3. Find and hire boys suits
4. Have makeup trial
5. Sign paper for Decorative Events
6. Find and purchase wedding rings
7. Have tasting Dinner
8. Find and purchase bridesmaid dresses

So… We couldn’t find shoes anywhere!!! But managed to find a (rather expensive) pair literally 5 minutes before my dress fitting… So off we go to the fitting… And my dress doesn’t fit! Its too BIG! So, she took the hem up and I am set to go back for another fitting 4 weeks before the wedding to take in the sides… and then 1 week before the wedding just to make sure.

Next was the makeup trial which was fantastic! Loved every minute of it! Then we were off to the tasting dinner. The food was absolutely amazing! We were all SO pleased! That was a BIIIGGG day, we were exhausted after.

The next day we tried to make it to sign the D.E paper, but couldn’t manage in the time we had before our jeweler appointment. We went and designed our rings and we can’t wait to see them made up!!! He also took my engagement ring, so I am looking forward to getting that back!

The next day we went off to our appointment for the suits… Out of 7 boys who needed to be fitted, only one could make it… The groom! So Hopefully we can get the rest done soon… Then Louise met me for BM dresses… Which was rather unsuccessful so we walked away with nothing. Oh well, I’m sure we’ll be able to find something in time!!

It has been a while since my last diary… oops! Sorry to al my avid readers LOL! Since my last entry we have got so much done!

We have:

1. Found and secured a lovely cake lady (Faye Cahill) and picked our DREAM cake!
2. Found and secured our invites… With Effi . What a lovely woman! And she does absolutely FANASTIC work!
3. Found and secured our decorations for the ceremony and reception
4. Picked and secured our florist… White roses for the bouquets, buttonholes, centerpieces and 2 large arrangements for the ceremony!

We still have a while to go yet… I still need to have all of my dress fittings… But can only do that when my dress actually arrives! I haven’t found my bridesmaids dresses yet and one of my bridesmaids is still in Europe… I need to find the boys suits too… At first I was thinking that Michael could be in a black suit with a white shirt and black tie and his boys (and my brides’men’) could be in a black suit with a black shirt and white tie. Then I changed my mind and thought that the groomsmen etc should be in a black suit with a white shirt and white tie… BUT I have changed my mind again!!! And they will all be dressed the same lol!

In the midst of all of this Michael and I have moved out of Sydney. What a relief… But planning a wedding long distance isn’t as easy as I thought! When I next go to Sydney I will need to find shoes for me… and a shawl or bolero as it will be winter and I have a feeling I may get chilly…

Speaking of shoes… we have had a teeny setback… I don’t want to wear heels as I don’t want to be taller than Mic. And everyone thinks I should. I am still pretty sure I don’t want to… unless Mic wears shoes which will give him some height then I will wear very small kitten heals. But then what’s the point? No one will see my shoes anyway!

Ahhhh well, I spose you will have to read my next entry to see what we have decided hahaha!

Before I know it the day will be here! Time is going so slow and so fast at the same time… One part of me wants it just to be here and another says “Don’t be impatient Miss Brigit. Sit back and enjoy the ride!!”

I’m GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR!!

I have now found and secured a photographer!! Yay! That’s one more thing to cross off the list of like a million things!

We have booked XSight Photography for the big day. They will be doing the video too. Its really fantastic to find one company which will do both but also isn’t a HUGE production company with no “intimacy” between you and the photographer.

The package is fantastic… We are getting:

-Full coverage of Bride & Groom pre-wedding (video & Photography)

-Full coverage of the ceremony (video & Photography)

-Full coverage of the reception (video & Photography at unlimited locations)

-Beautiful magazine style wedding album

-2 6x6 inch mini replica wedding albums

-6 DVD’s with long and short versions & titles and chapters

-Unlimited night shots

-Proof book with all the pictures taken on the day

I was stressing over a celebrant… I wanted someone who wasn’t totally out of touch. Michael and I are both young and we want the person who marries us to “get it”. Pretty much, I wanted someone I feel comfortable enough to swear around. (I know it’s a weird thing but it makes sense to me!!)

My mother ended up suggesting a friend of hers who I have known for ever. I had totally forgotten that she was a civil celebrant! She sent us a wonderful pack with so many ceremony suggestions, readings, vows… everything!

So time is now ticking away… I have a lot to do so I hope I get it all done! In February Mum is coming to Sydney. We are going to do cars, cake and invites. I’m so excited to have more done… I’ll keep you posted as things progress!
